Covid-19

June 1, 2020

Dear Friends of La Salle Manor,

We wanted to share how the Covid-19 virus has impacted La Salle Manor.  Beginning March 14th until the end of June no retreat groups will have used our wonderful gathering spaces.  Since most of our clients are schools which have been educating on-line since March, our facility has been vacant, yet bills are still being received.

Upon discussing re-occupancy issues with several retreat groups, we are confident that our facility will be able to host groups when the Governor reduces the gathering restriction. The entire facility has been sprayed with a disinfectant and will be again prior to the first group returning. We have developed a disinfectant plan with our housekeeping staff to provide a clean and safe environment from the Covid-19 germs, as well as designed various methods to handle social distancing in all of our spaces.

$161,524

However, in order to continue our mission (quality retreat experiences to inspire the next generation) we need your help.  We have made all efforts to minimize this operating deficit by applying for and receiving $65,000 from the Federal PPP program. We also have furloughed the majority of our staff and have eliminated one of our full time positions. The above number represents the lost revenue from March thru the end of June (net of PPP and furloughs) and assuming groups do not return until September our deficit increases additional $110,000.

We realize not everyone is in a position during these challenging time to help out but we are reaching out to those friends of La Salle Manor who can assist in our fundraising goal of $150,000 over the next 3 months.

Especially for those who have been a witness to the inspiring impact our facility and ministry have had with so many students and adults, please consider giving whatever you can to allow our mission to continue to thrive.  Donations can also be sent via our website at www.lasallemanor.org/covid-19-relief.

We also welcome any advice or recommendations on how we can survive this hopefully short term crisis.  Thanks in advance for your support.

Sincerely,
